You preach hard on a controversial text and what is left to say?  What I have to admit is that the text humbles me.  Not only does God become greater and more magnificent in every text, but the complexity of the text becomes greater.  It would seem as though the more we study God’s word that the text would become simpler, but at times, quite the opposite happens.  At its simplest, Mark 13 is a warning to be awake and persevere.  At its most complex points, Jesus warns of a future tribulation (the timing of which confounds the smartest theologians).

On a similar, but less related topic, I was enthralled by a study on the Arch of Titus.  This arch was built to symbolize Titus’ great victory in the destruction of the temple.
